Terms of service

The IELTS Institute is an independent IELTS preparation platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, or Cambridge University Press & Assessment.

IELTS is a registered trademark of those organisations. We use the name only to describe the examination our service prepares you for.

Every band score produced by this platform is an indicative prediction generated by our own scoring engine and assessment models. It is not an official IELTS result.

You may not submit any score, report or certificate produced here to a university, employer, immigration authority or professional body as evidence of English proficiency. Doing so may constitute fraud.

We make no guarantee that a score produced here will match the result of an official IELTS test.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms on your behalf.

You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you believe someone else has accessed it.

One account is for one person. Sharing credentials, or reselling access, is grounds for suspension without refund.

Do not copy, scrape, republish or redistribute our test content, answer keys, audio or explanations.

Do not attempt to extract answer keys, reverse-engineer the scoring engine, or interfere with the assessment of your own or anyone else’s attempts.

Do not use automated tools to generate submissions for AI marking. AI assessment costs us money per submission and abuse is treated as a breach of these terms.

Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings and will keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Prices are shown before you pay and include VAT where applicable. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never receive or store your card details.

We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice. Changes never affect a period you have already paid for.

We aim for continuous availability but do not guarantee it. Maintenance, third-party outages and faults will sometimes interrupt the service.

If a technical failure on our side invalidates a test attempt — for example, audio that fails to play during Listening — we void that attempt and grant a replacement at no cost. That is our sole obligation in those circumstances.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

We are not liable for examination outcomes, visa or admission decisions, or any loss arising from reliance on a predicted band score.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

You may close your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.

On closure we retain anonymised attempt statistics, which cannot be linked back to you, so that question quality analysis remains valid.

We will give reasonable notice of material changes to these terms. Continuing to use the service after they take effect means you accept them.

These terms are governed by the law of the jurisdiction stated at the foot of this page, and the courts there have exclusive jurisdiction.
