Most IELTS platforms are a content library with a quiz engine bolted on. We started from the scoring, because a preparation platform that gives you the wrong number is worse than no platform at all.

A wrong band is worse than no band
Academic and General Training Reading convert raw scores differently — 30 out of 40 is band 7.0 on one and 6.0 on the other. Plenty of platforms use a single table for both and never mention it. Ours are versioned per test and pinned to your result, so a correction we publish next year can never quietly rewrite a score you got last month.

Feedback has to point at something
“Improve your coherence” is not feedback. Every criterion band we give you is accompanied by sentences lifted from your own writing, and the system rejects any comment where the quoted text cannot be found in what you actually wrote.

The AI does not get the last word
When the model is uncertain, or its four criterion scores disagree with each other by too much, a qualified human examiner reviews it. Those corrections are kept and measured — we track how far the AI drifts from human examiners and publish the gap internally as a release gate.

Conditions are part of the score
The audio plays once. Sections lock when the clock runs out. You cannot go back. A practice score taken with a pause button is not a practice score — it is a reading comprehension exercise with a timer attached.

Our failures are not your problem
If our audio fails during Listening, the attempt is voided and a free retake is granted automatically. If your connection drops, your answers keep saving locally and the test keeps running. You are never penalised for our infrastructure.
What we are not
The IELTS Institute is an independent preparation platform. We are not affiliated with the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, or Cambridge University Press & Assessment, and we are not endorsed by them. We cannot issue an official IELTS result, and nothing produced here can be submitted for a visa, university place or professional registration. What we can do is tell you, honestly and in advance, roughly where you stand — and exactly what to work on before the day that does count.
